THE LION IN WINTER

King Henry II of England has three sons by Eleanor of Aquitaine: Richard, Geoffrey and John. He wants the kingdom to stay united after his death, but all three sons want to rule and it is likely to be torn apart by revolution. Henry wants son John to succeed him, but Eleanor favors Richard. The story centers on the personality conflicts and shifting alliances among the estranged couple and their adult sons and heirs to the throne. “A work of intelligence, astringent wit, and much theatrical skill.” N.Y. Times

Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm; Sunday Matinees at 2:00 pm (2/28, 3/7, 3/14).
Bargain Night – 2/26

ARSENIC AND OLD LACE

For the clan known as Brewster insanity runs in the family. Two sweet old aunts take it upon themselves to poison lonely old men with nothing to live for, as an act of charity. Their nephew Mortimer has just got married, and is trying to negotiate his way around the shenanigans of the house, while trying to keep his new bride from fleeing. Shady brother John returns from a world adventure involving using corpses to change his appearance to allude capture. The merry mayhem continues with bugle-blowing brother Teddy who is charged with burial duties. A ready made comedy hit!

Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm; Sunday Matinees at 2:00 pm (5/23, 6/6, 6/13).
Bargain Night – 5/28

Picking up where Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues ended, part three of Neil Simon’s acclaimed autobiographical trilogy finds Eugene and his older brother Stanley trying to break into the world of professional comedy writing while coping with the breakup of their family. Their efforts to come up with an idea for a comedy sketch sparkle with hilarity. “Expectedly funny and unexpectedly moving.” N.Y. Times

Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm; Sunday Twilight Matinees at 6:00 pm (8/1, 8/8, 8/15)
Bargain Night – 7/30

GYPSY

Gypsy is based on the 1957 memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous striptease artist, and focuses on her mother, Rose, whose name has become synonymous with “the ultimate show business mother.” In particular, it follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise two daughters to perform onstage and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life. Memorable musical numbers include Small World, Everything’s Coming Up Roses, You’ll Never Get Away from Me, and Let Me Entertain You.

Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm; Sunday Matinees at 2:00 pm (11/7, 11/14, 11/21).
Bargain Night - 10/29
